Chamber Music Concert Series: Sonatas for Viola da Gamba and Piano
Our second concert in our Chamber Music Concert Series showcases the enigmatic voicing of the viola da gamba and piano. Come and explore the music of two of Johann Sebastian Bach’s sons, Carl Philipp Emanuel and Johann Christian Bach, with two master performers!
Renowned for his superb cantabile tone and exceptional rapport, Mexican pianist Juan Pablo Horcasitas is celebrated as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. Following his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2009, he has captivated audiences worldwide with his dynamic performances and collaborative spirit. A First Prize winner at the "Manuel de Falla" Piano Competition in Mexico City, he has graced the stage of major concert halls across Mexico, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, South America, and the United States. A passionate educator, Mr. Horcasitas served from 2009 to 2021 as a faculty member at the Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School—a pioneering institution for visually impaired students. He has also taught at the Diller Quaile School of Music in New York City and currently holds the position of Private Instruction Coordinator and Piano Faculty at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
Praised as “wonderfully expressive,” (Play on Milwaukee) Charlie Rasmussen performs viola da gamba and Baroque cello around the region. Charlie is the Instrumental Director at Just Bach Concerts in Madison and serves on the board of directors of Early Music Now in Milwaukee. Charlie is a cello faculty member and the Suzuki Coordinator at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee. Charlie coaches the viol consort at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has been on faculty at the Madison Early Music Festival and the Whitewater Early Music Festival.

Chamber Music Concert Series: Wisconsin Wind Orchestra Quintet
In our third installment of our Chamber Music Concert Series, we present the Wisconsin Wind Orchestra Quintet. Building on the tradition of musical excellence found in major symphony orchestras, this group draws upon the vast literature written for the classical woodwind quintet of the last 200 years to formulate programs customized for each audience. Audiences report concert experiences that are quite varied, intriguing and delightful.

To the Holidays!” Cordes de Lion will host a wonderful evening of music, drinks, and festivities to get us all in the mood for the holiday season!
